My name is Aimee Jones and I am the founder of Travel Paradise.   I have always worked a corporate job like many people, and if I was lucky, I would have time to use a week or so out of multiple I earned every year.  Many of my co-workers would not even take off more than a few days off at a time. Trying to take a week all at once was very hard to do.  Often times people would sell their vacation time back to the company for money because otherwise they would stop accruing it otherwise.

As my vacation time bank kept growing, so did the stress at my job as the company kept downsizing which left fewer and fewer employees to cover when I wanted to take time off.  I decided to make a life change last year and leave my job of 22 years.  I was at the point where I felt my health and happiness needed to come first.  What is the point of having vacation time if you can’t use it?   So many people in our country leave their vacation time on the table each year because they can’t find time to get away from work!  We need to do better and take time to make the time with our families while we still can, while we are healthy and able!   That is how Travel Paradise came to be…

I created Travel Paradise purely out of my love for travel and my desire to share that passion with others by helping them go on more vacations.  When I was growing up, my parents always made family vacations a priority every year.  I didn’t have any siblings growing up; however, I remember they always let me take a friend on each trip so I would have someone my own age do things with.  We didn’t have a lot of money back then, so we always drove wherever we went, which could account for my love of road trips to this day!  We would go to amusement parks, on fishing trips, sightseeing, or to visit family in other states.  Looking back, it didn’t ever matter how extravagant the trip; it was always fun to leave Omaha and go somewhere new with family and friends!  Traveling on those trips are some of the best memories from my childhood even now. 

As a married mother of two, I have planned and traveled extensively, experiencing various destinations, and visiting exotic locations with my own family the past 26 years.  From our Honeymoon to Jamaica to all the wonderful trips we are taking now that we began this business; my husband and I have always enjoyed traveling together since we first met in high school.  I believe that vacation provides life-enriching experiences that strengthen family bonds and provide a lifetime of cherished memories.  We have always traveled with our two children as well. We love to travel all over the world, but always find ourselves migrating to the ocean, the beach and the sun! Our favorite places to travel internationally are Mexico and the Bahamas. Our favorite domestic state to travel to is Florida, we have visited Disneyworld and Universal Orlando several times and we love the Gulf Coast! We also love to cruise; our last big family cruise was with my Mom shortly before she passed away. We all had such a great time and are blessed to have those memories now forever! Before I opened Travel Paradise, I worked as a project management specialist for the government for 22 years.  That position afforded me a vast amount of experience working with many people under high stress situations. I am very analytical and have great research and communication skills. This parallels the skill set required by a successful travel agent and small business owner.  Using the skills from my previous career and my passions for travel, I bring joy and excitement to my clients every day!
